At 2 o’clock a number of intrepid artists gathered at the office for the first art class with Brave Gordon. We were handed our goodie bags of art supplies and set ourselves up at the tables.
This is Brave Gordon, who somehow expected us to take him seriously.
The smiling (except for Christine: doesn’t she look happy to be there?), budding artistes. Who is that not paying attention in the back row? Typical.
Neil with his jar and eggs. We grew to love drawing not the object but the space around it.
Gordon fixing things up with a few magic strokes.
Gordon managed to squeeze talent out of everyone.
See me for further details. I am happy to go for the nearest offer. Highest bidder gets the art.

Lorraine and Margaret sent through an update. Here are some highlights:
Hello Family!
We miss you all and thank you for your prayers. So much has happened over the past few days. Firstly, we were so blessed to see our Cambodian Family. They greeted us with flowers, smiles and lots of laughter. Their JOY is very contagious and refreshing. Yesterday we headed out to Can Cow Village in the Takeo Province which is a 2hr drive from Phnom Penh. On our way there, we stopped at the markets to buy some shoes and soccer balls for the children, and also some medicine for the village people. We also stopped at a Church where the November Youth Outreach will be held. The Pastor of the Church is a good friend of Mao An’s. It is a great location and quite big. The Pastor’s daughter Ream and her husband Kitt (he is from the USA) run an Orphanage called ‘A Greater Hope’. He took us there to meet them – WOW!! The presence of God was powerful. God is doing great things there. They are training up the children and teaching them about God, and they are also learning English etc and practical things like cleaning. The place was immaculate and the children have rosters to clean, look after the animals, and tend to the vegetable gardens. There were 2 sections: one for the boys and one for the girls and there are rooms for a carer for each section. The children were so happy and secure! The place was 3 stories high on a HUGE block of land with a massive balcony upstairs over looking amazing views of farmland, mountains in the distance and a river. We felt a strong connection with Ream and Kitt and we believe that we could learn a great deal from them and use their blue print for the need in Can Cow Village. The number of orphans in Can Cow is 33. God certainly gave us vision and inspiration and Christine’s word of ‘focus on what God wants for us’ was spot on and at the right time. Ream and Kitt have invited anyone to come and stay with them’ They were very welcoming. When we asked Mao An if there was a need similar to ‘The Greater Hope’ for Can Cow he laughed and said “Yes, we will see” with great JOY in his heart.
When we arrived at Can Cow the people welcomed us like family with love, they were dressed in their best and they had prepared an amazing feast of food which touched us and humbled us. After lunch they had prepared a place for us to rest in the shade on a stilt belt with pillows and their best rugs :0) We didn’t sleep but felt to honour them with gratitude by sitting there and we ate sugar cane freshly cut from the field with them. Barry stared the Business planning with Timothy, Pastor Sam, Mao An and some other leaders. During that time the children enjoyed being given the brand new soccer balls and were playing four square, soccer, volley ball and other games with us – we became like kids ourselves! It was so much FUN!!! We connected with their hearts and built friendships. Then we went back to the Pastor’s hut on stilts and shared God’s word with the villages – it was powerful. We spoke on Kingdom and Faith. We then broke them up into small groups and did a practical training session, so that they would experience God for themselves. God began to move powerfully. There was a storm in the natural and there was a kingdom shift taking place in the people. They prayed for each other and encouraged each other. We supported them and guided them with each one of us to a group and we prayed for them. After this it started to pour down with rain and so we began to hear the testimonies of signs and miracles and salvation of the people. While we were ministering the woman were preparing another sumptuous meal for us again :0). We then left and stayed in a motel down the road.
Today we rose early had breakfast at 7ish and then headed back to the village. First stop was the farm where Mao An walked us out to the land sections that belonged to the Pastor to give us vision of where the chicken farms will be. We then went back to the village and straight into children’s ministry while Barry went into phase 2 of the Business Development outlines. We sang songs, played games, ministered and then gave out lollies, clothes and shoes to the children. We then had lunch and after lunch had church and then prayed for the people, those that had experienced healing were encouraged to pray for those to receive. Then another storm broke loose! The village had had no rain for about one month prior to this!! We then continued to fellowship with our family and all the children. Garry was quite popular; two children called him Pa Pa and put his hand on their heads and said we are your sons :0)
On our way home we stopped in to visit Mao An’s Mum then arrived home tonight at about 7pm. The boys are out on the Tuk Tuk for dinner and Marge and I are now off to bed – Thank you Father!! it’s been such an amazing time. Signing off….
Till next time, we love you all and know you are with us in prayer – thank you!!

The team of six left last night for Cambodia. They will be ministering to some of the village churches and we look forward to hearing what God is going to do through them and in them. One of the aims of this trip is to purchase and set up some small businesses which will be run by the pastors of the village churches. An example of a small business is a pig farm; common and quite lucrative in Cambodia. Equipping the people with small business and similar enterprises enables a source of income to be established and leaves pastors free to minister to the people, rather than having to work to support their families.
